In the Name of Allah the Abundantly Merciful the Intensely Merciful
All Praises Due to Allah the Lord of the Worlds
O Allah, send Your Peace and Prayers upon Muhammed and the Family of Muhammed, the Imams and the Mahdis

After the appearance of the Hujjah Muhammad ibn Al-Hassan Al-Askari (pbuhahf) on Friday the 23rd of January 2015, the same day the cursed King Abdullah of Hijaz (Saudi Arabia) perished, the blessed black banners of the East were raised on the 19th of March 2015

The Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf) said:
“Hijaz will be ruled by a man who has the name of an animal (i.e King Fahd (leopard)).
If you look at him you will see that he is cross-eyed from far, and if you come close to him, you will not see anything wrong with his eyes.
A brother called Abdullah will succeed him.
Woe unto the Shia from him, he repeated it three times, give me the glad tidings of his death, and I will give you the glad tidings of the appearance of the Hujjah”
– 250 Signs, sign 88, p.135

And this is what the twelve men led by Imam Ahmad Al-Hassan (pbuh) have verified, when they met Imam Mahdi Mohammad ibn Al-Hassan Al-Askari (pbuhahf) in a place fortified by God on the same day Abdullah the ruler of Hijaz perished as was mentioned above.

From Abi Abdillah (pbuh) he said:
“The Qa’im shall not rise, until twelve men come forth and say that all of them have seen the Qa’im, but people will belie them.” – Al-Ghayba by Al-No’mani p. 285

The black banner is the banner of the Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf) which Gabriel (pbuh) descended with on the day of Badr, and the Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf) raised it on the day of Badr, and handed it over after the Battle of Badr to Imam Ali, the Prince of the Believers (pbuh) who in turn raised it on the day of Basra (the Battle of the Camel). This blessed banner was then preserved for the Qa’im (pbuh) for the day of his holy and blessed rise.

Abi Baseer narrated that Aba Abdillah (pbuh) said in a long hadith about the Qaim of the Family of Muhammed (pbuhahf):
“Then he will shake the banner and will walk by it, so there will remain no one in the East or the West except that they will curse it, and it is the banner of the Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf), Gabriel descended with it on the day of Badr” Then he said: “O Abu Muhammad, by Allah it is not cotton nor silk nor linen” So I said: So what is it from? So he said: “From the paper of paradise, the Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf) spread it on the day of Badr, then he wrapped it and pushed it to Ali (pbuh). So it remained with Ali (pbuh) until the day of Basra came, so the Commander of the Believers (pbuh) wrapped it so Allah opened for him. Then he wrapped it, and it is with us there. No one will spread it until the Qa’im rises, so if he rises he will spread it, and no one in the East or the West will remain except that they will curse it.” – Al Ghayba by Al No’mani, p. 320

Abi Baseer narrated that Aba Abdillah (pbuh) said:
“When the Prince of the Believers (pbuh) fought the people of Basra (i.e. in the Battle of the Camel), he spread the banner, the banner of the Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf), so their feet were shaken and by noon they said: “We believe, O son of Abi Taleb…”, so he said to Al Hassan “My son, the people will reach a certain time, and verily this banner will not be spread after me, except by the Qa’im (pbuh).” – Al Ghayba by Al No’mani, p. 319

So the texts confirm that the banner of Imam Al Mahdi (pbuhahf) is the banner of the Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf) which he raised on the day of Badr and which was not raised after him except by Imam Ali (pbuh) in the Battle of the Camel. The banner was then preserved for Imam Al Mahdi (pbuhahf) for the day of his holy rise, in order that he may raise it, and that he may fill the earth with justice and equity using it, just as it has been filled with injustice and tyranny.
As to why these banners were called “The Black Banners of the East”, it is because they will come from the East of the earth.

Al Asbagh Ibn Nabata narrated that the Prince of the Believers (pbuh) said in a long narration:
“Banners will approach from the East of the Earth with no sign on it, not from cotton, linen or silk. It is sealed on the head of the spear by the seal of the Great Sayed (Prophet Muhammad (pbuhahf), a man from the family of Muhammad (pbuhahf) will raise it, it will appear in the East and its scent will be present in the West, like musk pouring out. Horror will be in front of it for a month until they reach Al-Kufa, demanding the blood of their fathers. And while at that, the horses of the Yamani and Khurasani will race each other like two horses on a bet. Dusty, sandy faces, condemnable people, if you see them they would say: “There is no good for us sitting here after today, O Allah we are the repenters”, and they are the Abdaal that Allah described in His book “Allah loves the repenters and those who purify themselves” and their counterparts, the family of Muhammad. And a man from the people of Najran emerges and responds to the Imam, so he becomes the first of the Christians who responds to the Imam, so he demolishes his Baya’a, and breaks his cross and goes out with the servants and the vulnerable ones. And they walk to Al Nukhaila with flags of guidance, and so the place of gathering for all the people of the earth will be in Al Farouq.”
– Bihar Al Anwar, Vol. 52, p. 274

From Musaada from Abi Abdillah (pbuh) from the Prince of the Believers (pbuh), he said in one of his sermons called Al-Makhzoon:
“Banners will approach from the East of the Earth, and they’re not from cotton nor linen or silk. They’re sealed on the head of the spear by the seal of the Great Sayed (Prophet Muhammad (pbuhahf), a man from the family of Muhammad (pbuhahf) will raise them, they will appear from the East and their scent will be present in the West, like musk pouring out. Horror will walk in front of it for a month, and the sons of Saad, the water carriers, will rule in Kufa, demanding the blood of their fathers, and they are the sons of the immoral ones, until the horses of Al Hussain (pbuh) attack them, racing like two horses on a bet. Dusty, sandy faces, people of grief and joy. They would stomp their feet on the ground, crying and saying: “There is no good for us sitting here after today, O Allah, we are the repenters, the submissive, bowing and prostrating ones”, and they are the Abdaal whom Allah described in His Book “Allah loves the repenters and those who purify themselves” and their counterparts, the family of Muhammad. And a man from the people of Najran, a priest, emerges in response to the Imam, and becomes the first of the Christians to respond. He demolishes his monastic cell, and breaks its cross, and goes out with the servants and the vulnerable ones and the horses. And they walk to Al Nukhaila with flags of guidance, and so the place of gathering for all the people of the earth will be in Al Farouq, and it is a place the Prince of the Believers (pbuh) used to visit” – Mukhtasar Basa’ir Al Darajat, p. 200

So now it has become clear that the horses of the Yamani are the horses of Al Hussein (pbuh), and this means that the Yamani is Imam Al Hussein (pbuh) himself, which means that Imam Al Hussein (pbuh) will be from the returned and present ones in the age of the appearance of Imam Al Mahdi (pbuh). Rather, the Yamani (Imam Al Hussein (pbuh)) is the one who will be leading the army of the blessed and holy rise.
And to clarify and find out who is the Grand Sayed (Master), let’s take a look at the following:

It was mentioned in duaa Al Nudba by Imam Al Mahdi (pbuh):
“O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad. And send blessings upon Muhammad, his grandfather and Your messenger; the Grand Sayed, and upon his father, the junior master, and upon his grandmother, the grand veracious lady, Fatimah the daughter of Muhammad, peace be upon him and his Household, and upon his dutiful fathers whom You have chosen (over all others), and upon him, with such most favorable, most perfect, most thorough, most permanent, most abundant, and most plentiful blessings that You have ever sent upon any of Your elite ones and well-chosen ones among Your creation.” – Al Mazar by Al Mufid, p. 583

And it is also mentioned in the supplications:
“O Allah, send Your blessings upon Your Hujja and Your Guardian, and send Your blessings upon his grandfather Muhammad, Your messenger, the Grand Sayed, and send Your blessings upon his father, Ali, the brave Sayed, and the flagbearer at the gathering, and the one who gives his friends to drink from the Kawthar river.” – Iqbal Al A’mal, Vol. 1, p. 512

So it has become clear to us that the Grand Master is the Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf), and the banner of Imam Al Mahdi (pbuhahp) will be sealed on the top with his honorable seal, with the words “Muhammed is the Messenger of Allah”.

Thawban narrated that the Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf) said:
“The black banners come from the East, as if their hearts are like pieces of iron, so whoever hears about them, go to them, and give allegiance to them, even if crawling on ice!”
– Sunan Ibn Maja, Vol. 2, p. 1367

And from Thawban, he said: The Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf) said:
“Three will be killed at your treasures, all of them are the sons of a Khaleefa (Caliph/Successor) and then it will not be to anyone of them. And then black banners from the East will emerge, and they will fight them with such a fighting that no other folk will fight like it, and then he mentioned a youth and said: If you see him pledge allegiance to him, for he is the successor of the Mahdi.” – Sunan Ibn Maja – Vol. 2, p. 1367

Abdullah bin Mas’ud narrated that the Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf) said:
“While we were with the Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf), some youngsters from Banu Hashim, among them Al Hassan and Al Hussein, came along. When the Prophet (pbuhahf) saw them, his eyes filled with tears and his color changed. I said: ‘We still see something in your face that we do not like (to see).’ He said: ‘We are members of a Household for whom Allah has chosen the Hereafter over this world. The people of my Household will face calamity, expulsion and exile after I am gone, until black banners are raised from the East. They will ask for the truth/right but they will not be given it, then they will ask for the truth/right but they will not be given it, then they will ask for the truth/right but they will not be given it. So they will fight, and they will be given victory. So whoever recognized him from you, or from your descendants, then let them go to the Imam of my AhlulBayt, even if crawling on ice, for they are banners of guidance, they will push it to a man from my AhlulBayt, his name matches mine, and the name of his father matches the name of my father, he will rule the earth, and he will fill it with justice and equity as it was filled with oppression and injustice.” – Dala’il Al Imama, p. 446

And the blessed Black Banners of the East emerge at the time of the rise of Imam Al Mahdi, Muhammed Ibn Al Hassan Al Askari (pbuhahf) from a land which the AhlulBayt (pbut) called “Khurasan”

The Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf) said:
“If you see the black banners coming out from Khurasan, then go to them even if crawling on ice, for they have the Caliph of Allah, the Mahdi.” – Kitab Al Fitan, p. 188

And the Messenger of Allah (pbuhahf) said:
“The black banners come from the East, as if their hearts are like pieces of iron, so whoever hears about them then go to them and give allegiance to them, even if crawling on ice!”
– Bihar Al-Anwar, Vol. 51, p. 84

It is written on the black banner of Imam Al Mahdi, Muhammed Ibn Al Hassan Al Askari (pbuhahf), “Allegiance is to Allah”, which distinguishes it from the rest of the banners.

Abi Ishaq narrated that Nawaf Al Bukali said: “It is written on the banner of the Mahdi ‘Allegiance is to Allah’.” – Kitab Al Fitan, p. 220

Ubaid Ibn Karb said, I heard the Prince of the Believers saying:
“Verily we, the AhlulBayt have a banner, whoever goes ahead of it renegades, and whoever falls behind it perishes, and whoever follows it has followed [us], it is written on it: “Allegiance is to Allah.” – Kamaul Din Wa Tamam Al Ni’mah, p. 654

And the AhlulBayt (pbut) warn their Shia in this narration and other narrations of deserting this banner, rather they are to hold on to it and not go ahead of it nor fall behind it.

Sulaim Ibn Qais Al Hilali narrated: The Prince of the Believers ascended the Minbar and gave a long speech and said:
“Verily, me and the pious of my family and the best of my progeny, our youngsters, are the most gentle, and our adults are the most knowledgeable. We have the banner of truth and guidance, whoever goes ahead of it perishes, and whoever deserts it is destroyed, and whoever holds on to it, has followed [us].”
– Bihar Al Anwar, Vol. 34, p. 262

The Prince of the Believers (pbuh) said in a long hadith:
“We have the banner of truth, whoever takes shade in it, will be protected by it, and whoever races to it, wins, and whoever falls behind it, perishes, and whoever leaves it, falls, and whoever holds on to it, is saved.” – Bihar Al Anwar, Vol. 10, p. 111

So we can understand from the narrations above that this banner is a banner of infallibility that is not raised except by its companion. Therefore it is impossible that it is claimed by a liar. That is because if it is claimed by a liar, the people would then be following a banner of misguidance, and thus the banner of “Allegiance is to Allah” would be a banner of misguidance, and far is it from that. And it would not be as described by the AhlulBayt (pbut) to be a banner of truth and guidance.

In addition, the AhlulBayt (pbut) commanded us to hold on to it and not go ahead of it nor fall behind it. And this means that if it is raised, then it is the true banner, the banner of Imam Al Mahdi (pbuhahf), no doubt, because its infallibility is from the infallibility of its companion, Imam Al Mahdi Muhamed Ibn Al Hassan Al Askari (pbuhahf).
And the sentence “Allegiance is to Allah” on the banner of Imam Al Mahdi (pbuhahf) conveys that any allegiance to other than God, the High, the Exalted, would be an allegiance of disbelief and hypocrisy, and that rulership belongs to God only, so whoever pledges allegiance to Imam Al Mahdi (pbuh), pledges allegiance to Allah, because he is His vicegerent on earth, and His hand and the door through which He is approached.

So the banner of Imam Al Mahdi (pbuhahf) is distinguished by the slogan of “Allegiance is to Allah” which refers to the supremacy of Allah on earth after the entire Ummah has abandoned the rule of God on earth and turned to the rule of people, and that is why this banner will be cursed by the people in the East and the West.

Imam Al Sadiq (pbuh) said:
”So if he rises, he will spread it, and no one in the East or the West will remain except that they will curse it. Fear will walk in front of it for a month, and behind it for a month, and on its right for a month, and on its left for a month.” – Al Ghayba by No’mani, p. 320

Abi Al Tufail narrated that the Prince of the Believers said to him:
“O Amer, if you hear the black banners coming, then break this lock and this box, until you are killed underneath them, so if you couldn’t, then roll until you get killed underneath them.”
– Kanzul Umal, Vol. 11, p. 278

And here we are, the soldiers of God, and the companions of the blessed Black Banners of the East, calling you to give victory to the truth that is present in Imam Al Mahdi (pbuhahf) and to join his blessed banner.

Will you, after God answered you and after Imam Al Mahdi, Muhamed Ibn Al Hassan Al Askari (pbuh) appeared and his occultation ended, respond to God and His Messenger (pbuhahp)?
