In the beginning of time God sent prophets upon prophets to the people out of His mercy and generosity. At that time people were used to ask God to bestow a leader upon them. It was just as natural for them to want a divinely appointed leader, as the belief in God is a natural instinct the human being is born with.

BELIEF IN DIVINE APPOINTMENT HAS BEEN ALMOST LOST

As revealed by Ahmed Al-Hassan (pbuh) Osiris of ancient Egypt (pbuh) is one example of a leader that has actually been a prophet.
But the priests that sat themselves on the throne after Osiris made him into a God, so that they could claim that anyone who sits on the throne is automatically from God, and pass on the throne to their own sons. Every time the Religion of God got hijacked in this way, the understanding of Divine Appointment lessened.

There is a rule in this world. Wherever there is light darkness hoovers around it. It stays close by trying to cover the light at any chance arising. Therefore the prophets of God are not only accompanied by their closest companions, but also by hypocrites who hate God and hate His messengers, and only pretend to be their companions. For every prophet of God there are evil non-practising scholars in his community who mislead people after him, who try to seize power, hijack the religion, and destroy it from inside.

And exactly this repetitive hijacking of the Religion of God by frauds, impostors, and hypocritical charlatans led to so much oppression in the name of God that people started to dismiss the idea of Divine Appointment as nonsense. We have to understand that light is constantly and always attacked by darkness, meaning a prophet will always have enemies. But the degeneration of belief in divinely appointed leadership, and the decline of trust in this concept was a gradual process. It went on for centuries, until whenever a manifestation of God was appointed for the people the hypocrites easily gathered an opposition that set out to kill him. Therefore the last publicly appearing Divine Guide from the line of Mohammed (pbuh) – Imam Mahdi (as) – was withdrawn by God, and sent into a long occultation. And we will come to understand how such absence of an appointed Divine Messenger amongst the people is darkness, and a punishment from God.

From there on the devil intensified his efforts and began to strongly promote the ‘Supremacy of the Mob’ – called democracy. Why democracy? Because democracy allows the power-greedy to pull the strings more comfortably from behind the curtains. This present day the majority of the world is covered by nations that either follow corrupt clerics, or reject the idea of a Divinely Appointed Ruler altogether.

But there is one thing they have in common – they mistrust their political leaders. People today have recognized that their rulers mostly are their enemies, and that the political rulers are not less corrupt than the clerical. This means that no matter where people turn, there is no true leadership, there is no guidance, there is no justice.

TRUE LEADERSHIP HAS BEEN LOST

The political systems of today make people into slaves. And those who own the money are the hidden slave-owners. But only very few admit that the ‘Supremacy of the People’ results in covert tyranny. If we look at the revolutions against tyrannical governments this day which are flaring up everywhere, the people in it protest for yet another president chosen by the people, repeating history again and again.

The political leaders of this era are the opposite to the marvellous leaders from the Household of Prophet Mohammed like Imam Ali (as) who is praised by the enemy before he is praised by the friend.

Did you know that former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan delivered a speech at the University of Tehran in 1997 on “Imam Ali & Human Rights” to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary year of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?

IMAM MAHDI, AND HIS SUCCESSORS ARE ALREADY HERE

The reality is that Imam Mahdi (pbuh) has already reappeared, and has already brought with him many of the succeeding Mahdis – the 1st of them being Ahmed Al-Hassan (peace be upon them all), and the 9th of them being Jesus (pbuh).

Ahmed Al-Hassan was the first of them to raise the banner of “Allegiance is to God”. He is calling to God alone, and not to himself.

Imam Al-Baqir (pbuh) said, “None of the banners are more guided than the banner of the Yamani, it is the Banner of Guidance because he calls to your Companion (Imam Mahdi (pbuh)). So if the Yamani emerges, selling weapons to people or any Muslim (‘submitter to God’) becomes prohibited. And if the Yamani emerges, stand up to him because his banner is the banner of guidance. It is prohibited for any Muslim to turn away from him. And who ever turns away from him, then he is from the people of hell, because he calls to the truth and to a straight path.” – Ghaibat alNu’mani p.264, Door.14

Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (pbuh) said, “Verily we, Ahlul Bayt have a banner, whoever goes ahead of it have renegaded, and whoever is late to it have perished, and whoever follows it has followed [us], it is written in it: “Allegiance is to God.”

WITHOUT LOVE THERE IS NO LIFE

Even though darkness might trap and dim light – darkness cannot give life – only the love of God can. In fact “without love there is no life.” (Ahmed Al-Hassan).

No bliss can compare to the bliss we experience when we rest in God and fearlessly love others more than ourselves. The End Times will be ended by the Golden Era. The spiritual call to God alone will be sweeter than the whispers of the ego.

Therefore “Allegiance to the Ego” will crumble under “Allegiance is to God”.

Jesus (pbuh) said: “Thou shallt love the Lord God with all thy heart. And with all thy soul. And with all thy heart.” – Holy Bible, Matthew 22:37

And Prophet Muhammed (pbuhahf) asked: “Is religion anything but love?”
Every day is Ashura, and every land is Karbala
