Assalamu alaykum WaRahmtullah WaBarakatuh dear brothers and sisters in todays discussion we will be talk about why Yaqeen is needed.
Yaqeen is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase. Also it is considered the summit of the many stations by which the path of "walaya" is fully completed. This is the feeling of freedom within, once you gained it. In relation to the exoteric religious life, certainty is the sister of religious life in its perfection, that is, to say the adoration of Allah according to the visionary way, through this channel it is the pillar of Islam in the accomplishment of its external practices, as it is the foundation of faith. The Holy Quran States:
“And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (the Holy Quran 15:99)”.
And Have Yaqeen in small things because it is in them that your strength lays.
Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "Faith is superior to submission (to God), and certitude is superior to faith. Nothing is more superior than certitude."
Yaqeen is important for every true believer to have because our beloved master Aba Sadiq (a.s) says “the most important weapon of the believer is Yaqeen, and All praises due to Allah”.
Yaqeen, is having full trust and faith in Allah swt . People nowadays are afraid of not getting a job, or whatever they desire as if the one who gives is the people when instead it is Allah swt who provides what we need. So make Dua, that we do not abandon our “weapon”.
Also brothers and sisters without Yaqeen your faith can not be attained, also without Yaqeen you will stand in confusion and, you we'll ponder on this earth not knowing what to do and that brothers and sisters is hell within, thus, leading to looking for something, and God forbid, you will find Iblis (l.a), and he will lead you to wanting and working for Wordy pleasures which will lead to grave sins.
We have to attain certitude and if we do attain it, we will be successful. the best faith is certitude. The root of patience is (having) definite certainty about Allah. Faith is to one grade superior & sublime to Islam & piety is one degree superior to faith & certitude & certainty is one step superior to faith & nothing more elegant & excellent than certitude has been bestowed upon the sons of Adam (a.s).
Nothing is divided amongst the children of Adam (a.s) better than certitude.
"Saf fvan al Jammal asked imam Reza (a.s): "What are the signs of certitude?"
the Imam (a.s) replied: "Reliance on God, submitting to Him, being content with divine destiny, and entrusting one's affairs to God."
Then he asked the Imam (a.s): "What does all this mean?" Then Imam Reza (a.s) replied: "This is what Imam Baqir (a.s) said."
Saf fvan al Jammal said that he asked Imam Sadiq (a.s) about God's statement:
"As for the wall, it belonged to two youths, orphans, in the town; there was, beneath it, a buried treasure, to which they were entitled."[The Holy Quran 18:82]
He replied: "Know that "treasure" in the verse did not refer to gold or silver, but the following four:
(1) I am God, and there is no God but Me
(2) Whoever really believes in death will not laugh so hard that his teeth are seen
(3) Whoever really believes in being accountable for his deeds will not become happy
(4) Whoever really believes in destiny will only fear God.
Certainty is ever increasing, and remains so throughout eternity. Believers also vary in the strength and weakness of their certainty. A person whose certainty is strong may be recognised by the fact that he finds himself stripped of all ability and power other than what Allah has given him, and by his keeping to Allah's command and worship both outwardly and inwardly.
He considers the states of having and not having, increase and decrease, praise and blame, might and abasement, all to be the same because he considers them all on an equal level. However, a person who weakens his certainty attaches himself to external matters, and allows his self free rein therein. He follows the customs and sayings of people without substantiating them, and strives in the affairs of this world, accumulating its wealth and holding on to it, acknowledging and affirming it with his tongue.
There is no withholder or giver except Allah, and the slave can only obtain what he is provided with and allotted. Effort will not increase provision, but he disavows that by his action and his heart. In Allah's words he says:
They say with their mouths what is not in their hearts; and Allah best knows what they conceal (the Holy Quran 3:167).
Allah was compassionate to His bondsmen when He gave them permission to earn money however they might as long as they do not exceed the limits of Allah or abandon their obligations to Him and the behaviour of His Prophet in any of their actions, or abandon the spirit of trust or become caught in the field of greed. But when they forget this, attaching themselves to the opposite of what has been delineated for them, they are counted among the destroyed, who at the end have nothing but false claims. Not everyone who earns is necessarily trustful: from his earnings he brings for himself only what is forbidden or doubtful. He may be recognised by the effect his gains have upon him, by his insatiable hunger, and how he spends for this world without let.
He who is given permission to earn is one whose self gains while his heart trusts in Allah. If he has a lot of money, he is like a trustee who knows that having property and not having it is the same thing. If he withholds it, he withholds for Allah, and if he spends it, he does so in the way Allah has commanded. Both are for Allah.
The benefits of having Yaqeen is that you well see the truth clear than the sun, also it we'll keep you away from confusion and it we'll keep you on the right path. Aba Sadiq (a.s) said Yaqeen is the 'greatest weapon'.
The virtues you gain from having Yaqeen are:
Humbleness - When you're humble towards people, you always put yourself below them, because you have the certainty, the Yaqeen, to put yourself below them. This virtue, is so good to have because this virtue is useful for everything in your everyday life, because you start to care for each other brothers and sisters.
Wisdom - You'll be wiser, in every situation, because you'll know when to say and what to say in any kind of calamities, you'll then earn Yaqeen.
Generosity With the Yaqeen, you will care for one another and provide for others of what they need, to help them through their tribulations. So be generous towards one another!
Reliance- Reliance is one of the fruits of certainty and thus it was appropriate to connect guidance to it, as Allah says:
“So rely upon Allah; indeed, you are upon the clear truth” (the Holy Quran 27:79) the clear truth here refers to certainty.
Tranquility and joy are found in certainty and contentment, while grief and anxiety are found in doubt and discontentment, so certainty is compulsory!
Rank of certainty:
“It’s importance for belief, is like that of the soul to the body. It is based on this rank that the righteous differ in status and in it they compete and strive hard. Their deeds are based on it, and their aims directed to it. If patience were to marry certainty, they would obtain the rank of leadership in piety with respect to this religion. Allah says:
“And We made from among them leaders (i.e. in piety) guiding by Our command when they were patient and [when] they were certain of Our signs” (the Holy Quran: 32: 24).
Allah made benefiting from the signs and evidences peculiar to the people of certainty saying In the Holy Quran:
“And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith]” (the Holy Quran: 51: 20).
Allah also made success and guidance one of their distinct qualities saying In the Holy Quran:
“And who believe in what has been revealed to you, (O Muhammad), and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain (in faith). those are upon (right) guidance from their Lord, and they who are the successful” (the Holy Quran: 2: 4-5).
Additionally, Allah Has informed us that the dwellers of the Fire were not amongst the people of certainty saying In the Holy Quran:
“And when it was said, ‘Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth and the Hour (is coming) no doubt about it, you said, "we know not what is the Hour. We assume only assumption, and we are not convinced.” (the Holy Quran: 45: 32).
Thus certainty is the life for deeds, hearts and limbs … it is the reality of truthfulness … it is the essence of the religion and around it the matter revolves”.
The ways we can show our Yaqeen for our beliefs can be summarised by our beloved master Aba Sadiq (a.s). He said “Being sincere to Allah (swt) and defeating the ego comes with Yaqeen and good works for the sake of Allah (swt), and giving victory to the Caliph of Allah (a.s)”.
To make our Yaqeen stronger, we must first, face our selves, by self purifying and to do this our beloved Master Aba Sadiq (a.s) said Sincerity in work is needed, Yaqeen in your beliefs, showing the morals and manners of Muhammad and Ale Muhammad (a.s).
Working together in what is good and righteous and staying away from fitnas between the Ansar (pbut), for the Father Imam Ahmed Al Hassan (a.s) has said to me: "Whoever starts a fitna between the ansar, his destiny is hellfire by Allah."
We also can make our Yaqeen stronger by getting closer to Allah (swt) by offering prayers, when we pray we get closer to Allah (swt), and he (swt) blessed us with his grace and mercy, so pray, pray and pray, as your soul depends on it.
Giving zakat- when we give charity we save a person’s life and Allah (swt) shall bless them and your soul will be happy.
Acts of obedience- when we obey rules of the Ahlulbayt (a.s), we know the limits of a certain things and we know what to follow. In this case, Imam Ahmed Al Hassan (a.s), the black banners, have provided a lot and lot of proofs and Hadiths and from Prophet Muhammad (sawas) and you can read them on the following link:
So follow the Ahlulbayt (a.s) as your life and soul depends on it because they are the truth and the key to success and they are truly from Allah (swt)…
Certainty will take the bondsman to every sublime state and every wondrous station: thus did the Messenger of Allah make known the immensity of certainty when he mentioned that Isa (a.s) walked on water. He said, If he had had more certainty, he could have walked on air. By this he indicated that in spite of the majesty of the place, which the prophets have with Allah, they also have different ranks according to their certainty.
Another example of Having Certainty in Allah:
Is when Moses (a.s) stood in front of the sea and his enemies were behind him, and with him is a nation that left submissive to Allah, responding to the command of Allah, and as he stood there in front of the sea Bani Israel said:
Indeed, we are to be overtaken!”(26:61)
And he said with certainty that filled his heart.
No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me.” (26:62).
No I will not be overtaken and nor will I be humiliated and with me is Allah! And with the blink of an eye, the command of Allah descended.
Strike with your staff the sea, "and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain.” (26:63).
"Glory be to Allah, with a blink of an eye the waves of the sea turned to a surface without a splash of water.”
We can also build up our Yaqeen by practicing our beliefs meaning spreading the Dawa when you spread this blessed call to others, you will get the sensation of relief, because you have saved a soul. Also you will learn of the other person and also you will actually learn a lot about yourself believe it or not.
And you will gain more knowledge and better understanding of it, and when you have a better understanding of your beliefs, at least then, you know where you stand and thanks to Imam Ahmed Al Hassan (a.s), we Inshallah know where we stand. We, stand under the banner of truth, the banner of the Qaim of Ale Muhammed the banner, which guides you to Allah (swt)!
Certainty or conviction is a valuable capital, which is given to only few people. Anybody possessing this, enjoys great prosperity.
Imam Reza (a.s) has stated:
"Faith is one degree above Islam, God wariness is one degree above faith. Certainty is one degree above God wariness. Nothing less than certainty is divided among God's believers".
The narrator says: I heard Imam Al-Sadiq (a.s) saying:
"Indeed, a small act based on certainty that is performed continually, is better before God than abundant actions not based on certainty".
He also said:
"With his justice and fairness, God has put tranquillity and ease in certainty and satisfaction, and has put sorrow and grief in doubt and displeasure".
Types Of Certainty:
Certainty has degrees. These degrees are referred to in the Quran as "certain knowledge”, to see with the “eye of certainty" and "certain truth".
“Nay! If you had known with certain knowledge, you should most certainly have seen Hell; then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty” (the Holy Quran 102:5-7).
Refer to the first and second degrees respectively:
“Most surely this is a certain truth," refers to the third degree of conviction". (The Holy Quran 56:95).
Prophet Muhammad said a man with certainty performs actions for the sake of Allah as though he sees Him. Even if he does not see Allah, he knows that Allah sees him; and he is certain that what is coming to him (by the will of Allah) will not pass him by, and what is not meant to be for him will not come to him. These are all branches of trust in Allah and abstinence (from worldly pleasures).
Thus, if we do not have certainty in God’s plan and we reflect upon that which we do not have instead of being thankful for that with which we have been blessed, we will only cause ourselves to be bitter and dissatisfied.
Brothers and sisters we must have full Yaqeen is our beloved father Imam Ahmed Al Hassan (a.s) so if he told you to climb a 3000 ft tall mountain, then he (a.s) tells you to jump of will you do it? We must have full Yaqeen in Imam Ahmed Al Hassan (a.s) that what ever they say you know it is the truth and it is for the best. Our beloved master Aba Sadiq (a.s) said that "if Imam Ahmed Al Hassan (a.s) told him to fornicate he would fornicate knowing it is truth" because brothers and sisters Imam Ahmed Al Hassan (a.s) is the truth and there are many clear proofs and our he is our true promised saviour.
You should have full Yaqeen in the black banners, because:
They have provided the proofs to us, such as:
The Prophet’s (sawas) will.
The glad tidings of death of King Abdullah (l.a).
Their conduct, their morals and manners. they clearly are part of the Ahlulbayt (a.s).
They've made it so easy for us! We should be grateful for what they've done, they have guided us so much that all we must do is clean our inside, they (a.s) are dealing with all the oppression and we must battle ourselves, within, so thank you Imam Ahmed Al Hassan (a.s).
And you can check more of the proofs on the wiki we have shared earlier.
Also our beloved father Imam Ahmed Al Hassan (a.s) said “if you have mustards seed worth of doubt when the rise happens you will fall”. So our Yaqeen must be complete with Imam Ahmed Al Hassan (a.s) and with the blessed black banners from the east, if not then you must consider looking at the proofs again and asking Allah (swt) for guidance.
And Aba Sadiq (a.s) said "I shall give you a weapon which Imam Ahmed Al-Hasan (a.s) has given me. And it is the following sentence: "Verily Allah (swt) does not misguide his sincere servants". If a person truly believes in this sentence, and understands this sentence, then Yaqeen will be his or hers.
When Imam Ahmed Al Hasan (a.s) said this sentence ... it causes the individual to ponder over this sentence and ask himself or ask herself: Am I sincere?' and 'Have I been sincere?.
If you are sure that you have been sincerely looking for the truth and if you are a 100 percent positive, that you never intended by this Dawa to gather money or fame or worldly titles, then be sure that Allah (swt) would NEVER misguide you. For Allah (swt) would never misguide anyone who has been sincere. It is impossibility and it would be an injustice on the part of Allah (swt) otherwise. And Allah (swt) is higher and much greater than that."
Remember brothers and sisters, the best weapon we have is Yaqeen and with it you can do everything for the sake of Allah (swt).
Also one of the blessed Ansars (pbut) asked Aba Sadiq (a.s):
My master Aba Sadiq (a.s), what can we do now to serve you in this time?
Aba Sadiq (a.s): We want from you the following:
Sincerity in work, Yaqeen in your beliefs, showing the morals and manners of Muhammad and Ale Muhamed (a.s).
Working together in what is good and righteous and staying away from fitnas between the Ansar, for the Father Imam Ahmed Al Hassan (a.s) has said to me:
"Whoever starts a fitna between the ansar, his destiny is hellfire by Allah."
And the Imam (a.s) also answered: “And there is no intercede for him on the day of judgement.”
Yaqeen is to believe what you do not see, the reward of this faith is to see what you believe. And brothers and sisters Yaqeen is needed, Yaqeen is needed in order that you make be successful and that you are able to see this world for its reality by breaking chains you have in this world.
Allaahumma salle ala Muhammad wa Ale Muhammad al Aemma wal Mahdyeen wa salem tasleeman Katheera
