The Divine Mercy of Allah [swt]
The mercy of Allah [swt] should never be underestimated or measured because it is beyond what the mind can comprehend. There are many qualities of mercy and forgiveness throughout the Quran and sayings from the Ahl al Bayt [as]. Allah [swt] asks us to seek forgiveness from Him and , the Ahl al Bayt [as] remind us to seek Allah [swt] for pleasures of mercy.
Allah [swt] created mankind with an inclination to commit sins however repenting seeks Allah [swt] divine attributes of mercy. Falling into error, realising the mistake or sin committed and seeking the pleasures of Allah [swt] divine mercy in itself develops the spiritual growth of the being. Allah [swt] is the Ar Rahmaan Ar Raheem the merciful the intensely merciful, he [swt] loves those with hope and who seek his forgiveness. The love of Allah [swt] transgresses all limits and it is because of this love Allah [swt] is eager for mankind to turn towards him and seek his mercy. Although the mercy of Allah [swt] is vast and all-encompassing those who truly and sincerely seek Allah [swt] mercy prevent themselves from committing the same sin again and again.
The Holy Quran, Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." And return [in repentance] to your Lord and submit to Him before the punishment comes upon you; then you will not be helped. [39:53-54]
The Holy Quran: Say, "Whether you conceal what is in your breasts or reveal it, Allah knows it. And He knows that which is in the heavens and that which is on the earth. And Allah is over all things competent. [3:29]
The Holy Quran: Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people." [2:286]
The Holy Quran: Say: If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your faults, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful [3:31]
The Holy Quran: And those who when they commit an indecency or do injustice to their souls remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their faults and who forgives the faults but Allah, and (who) do not knowingly persist in what they have done. [3:135]
Numerous verses of the Holy Quran speak of the mercy of Allah [swt] even then the mind cannot comprehend the mercy of Allah [swt]The Holy Quran "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."39:53.
The reward of Allah [swt] is great and one must truly seek the repentance for verily Allah [swt] forgives all sins for those whom are sincere in repentance. Allah [swt] forgives all sins for those who truly repent from the hearts and are sincere in their repentance. One way we can be sincere in our repentance is to refrain from committing the same sins again and to increase in performing good deeds in the way of Allah [swt].
The Holy Quran: Surely Allah does not do injustice to the weight of an atom, and if it is a good deed He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward. [4:40]
The Holy Quran: Whoever brings a good deed, he shall have ten like it, and whoever brings an evil deed, he shall be recompensed only with the like of it, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.[6:160]
