What Jesus said about the end times

In Matthew 24, Jesus listed several signs of the end times. And the signs, which he mentioned are a description of our world today.
"You will hear of wars and rumors of wars..." Matthew 24:6
As the year 2020 began, rumours of wars were swirling, with World War 3 trending on twitter just 3 days into the new year.
Soon after that, the world’s focus shifted to a common enemy — the coronavirus. The COVID 19 pandemic has ravaged the world and left an economic catastrophe in its wake. For months, large parts of the world were locked down in an effort to stop the virus from spreading. Businesses shut down, people were laid off from their jobs in droves, and now it seems, economies are on the verse of collapse.
The dollar is expected to collapse.
All of this economic unrest has led to a rise in radicalism.
Widespread economic depression has historically been a precursor to world war.
"There will be famines and earthquakes in various places." Matthew 24:7
One of the plagues of Moses was a plague locusts. And today, parts of the world have been struck with the exact same plague.
Locusts cause famine. This locust outbreak could leave nearly 5 million people in Africa facing starvation. The crisis comes on top of food insecurity already exacerbated by COVID-19. A swarm can consume the same amount of food in one day as 35,000 people.
Like famine, large-scale earthquakes are on the rise. Since the new millennium began, large scale earthquakes with a magnitude between 6 and 8 have increased dramatically.

All of these signs are coming true before our eyes. But as Jesus said, this is only the beginning…
“All these are the beginning of birth pains.” Matthew 24:8
Jesus also talked about another sign of the coming of the hour. One, which many people, throughout history, have tried to decipher. He said, “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— ” Matthew 24:15
What was he referring to?
We finally have the answer.
To be continued…
